The Opportunity
Temple & Webster, Australia’s #1 online retailer for the home, is seeking a talented and passionate interiors Stylist to join our studio team on a 12-month maternity leave contract. Reporting to the Head of Studio, you will work autonomously to concept and execute exciting, innovative, and on-brand photo and video shoot concepts for sales events, editorial stories, and marketing campaigns. You will be instrumental in devising interior styling advice for our customers and presenting to camera for video content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Concept, set up, and execute daily photo and video shoots.
  • Communicate with the Photography and Videography team to ensure shot lists are delivered effectively.
  • Organise, maintain, and process sample stock, including labelling, photographing, and arranging returns to suppliers.
  • Organise and maintain props and backdrops, adhering to studio Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards.
  • Proactively manage and prioritise a dynamic workflow across multiple simultaneous shoots and projects, ensuring all deadlines and quality standards are consistently achieved.
  • Work collaboratively with and direct on-camera talent and models, providing guidance on wardrobe, posing, and performance to align with the creative vision.
  • Develop pre-visualisation documents (including mood boards and set designs) to effectively communicate styling ideas to photographers and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform manual handling of furniture and props safely, in adherence to all studio Work Health and Safety (WHS) procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Editorial teams to devise interior styling advice and implement content creation as per brief.
  • Guide styling interns and assistants, including conducting WHS inductions.
  • Scout for new props, surfaces, and studio enhancements, always looking for ways to elevate our styling while managing costs effectively.

Key Requirements

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum of two years industry experience as a lead stylist (publishing, agency, or retail context).
  • Strong portfolio showcasing experience in photographic interiors styling, interior design, and decoration, with a focus on furniture and homewares.
  • Tertiary qualifications in styling, interior decoration, design, or visual merchandising are preferred.
  • Competence in the visual communication of styling plans and set designs.
  • A well-honed eye for concepting, composition, process, and execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present on camera and write compelling copy a plus.
  • Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments, managing multiple shoots, meeting tight deadlines, and maintaining a high-quality of deliverables.
  • Highly organised, process-driven, with exceptional problem-solving skills in both creative fields and shoot production.
  • Fluency in digital communication programs such as Google Suite.
