About GWA

Since 1886, the experts at GWA have designed innovative, high-quality products for homes and offices. We have market-leading, iconic brands, including Caroma, Methven, Dorf, and Clark.

At GWA, our purpose is to make everyday water experiences extraordinary. Water scarcity affects all communities, and given that our consumers enjoy experiencing our products daily, we are proud to help save millions of litres of water each year.

Your new role

We are looking for a creative Design Consultant to join our Experience Centre. This 3-month temporary part-time (22 hours per week) role is based at our beautiful Alexandria showroom and focuses on ensuring that our customers are provided with an outstanding, high-quality experience. As well as consulting with customers regarding their requirements, you will be proactive in reaching out to external stakeholders/industry sectors to create new opportunities; maintain and develop all of our existing business opportunities; provide assistance at site events (which may be outside of standard business hours) and follow up on leads and manage the associated administration.

What’s it like to work at GWA?

Culture is key for us, and our people come from various backgrounds and industries. We all share a common purpose of bringing to life all three of our cultural pillars: We are Customer Focused; We are One Team, and We Care For Each Other. Our passion and dedication are evident in how we work together to ensure everyone achieves our goals and that we all play a role in making GWA a great workplace.

Our success is driven by a global team that shares a passion for being the trusted and integrated solutions partner in delivering sustainable water solutions for bathrooms, kitchens, and laundries.

Key Requirements

About you

Along with any customer-facing previous experience and tertiary or post-secondary qualifications in Architecture design, Interior design, or a trade, it would be great if you had the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of plumbing applications as relevant to our solutions and the technical ability to design and develop bathroom, kitchen, and laundry specifications to meet our customers’ needs
  • Outstanding communication skills – you’ll easily build rapport with customers, whether face to face at our showroom, via phone/email, or at events
  • Strong customer service skills – you’ll be experienced in dealing with both walk-in and industry customers and be able to consult with clients, create specifications and quotes, and provide regular follow-ups
  • Curiosity and a desire to learn – you’ll thrive in an environment of continuous learning provided by our innovation teams, suppliers, and industry specialists
  • Sales focused – you proactively ensure that our clients are receiving accurate information and follow up on pipelines of new and existing opportunities
  • Operations Excellence – you take pride in your working environment and making sure that the showrooms and products are displayed to a high standard

You’ll be happy to suggest new ways of doing things (we want your ideas!), and you always keep the customer at the centre of your focus.

Industry experience in interior design within the renovation and replacements sectors and an ability to design bathroom layouts will be looked upon favourably.

Please note: there will be a requirement to work on Saturday (one Saturday is rostered off per month) to service busy foot traffic periods in the Alexandria centre.
