About the Role
DARE Panel is seeking a casual Material Selection Assistant to support client appointments in our Sydney selection studio.
This role is ideal for:
* Interior design graduates
* Junior interior designers
* Design students
* Emerging cabinetry or kitchen designers
The position is appointment-based only, offering flexible working arrangements with casual hourly pay plus sales commission opportunities.
Key Requirements
Responsibilities
* Attend pre-booked showroom and client appointments
* Assist clients with colour, finish, and material selections
* Introduce decorative boards, cabinetry surfaces, and panel systems
* Prepare and organise samples, mood boards, and presentation materials
* Support builders, joiners, architects, interior designers, and homeowners with product selections and recommendations
* Recommend suitable finishes, board applications, and surface combinations
* Provide light specification and project support, including:
* product and finish recommendations
* board thickness and application guidance
* sample coordination
* project follow-ups
* Maintain relationships with designers and industry contacts
* Maintain showroom presentation, displays, and sample organisation
* Support social media and design inspiration content where required
About You
* Passion for interior design, materials, and cabinetry finishes
* Strong presentation and communication skills
* Interior design or related study preferred
* Basic understanding of cabinetry, decorative surfaces, or interior materials is advantageous
* Confident using Canva, Instagram, Pinterest, or presentation software
* Well organised and confident communicating with clients, builders, and designers
* Able to work independently during showroom appointments
* Sales confidence and relationship-building skills are a bonus
