Join a premium interior design showroom based in Paddington, offering clients an elevated, design-led and consultative experience. Working across both walk-in clients and trade professionals, the showroom is recognised for its attention to detail, product knowledge, and long-standing relationships within the design and construction industry.
About the Role
This position is ideal for a Junior Interior Designer who enjoys working directly with clients while building strong foundational skills across both design and showroom consulting. You’ll support clients through thoughtful, design-led selections while working closely with senior designers, architects, builders, and trade partners on high-end residential and commercial projects.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role with training and mentorship provided in a professional, sales and design-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a high level of customer service to walk-in and existing clients
- Guide clients through design-led product selections, finishes, and specifications
- Assist senior designers with drawings, layouts, and design development (SketchUp)
- Support project coordination and provide showroom-based design advice
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, designers, builders, and suppliers
- Manage enquiries in person, via phone, and email
- Maintain showroom presentation, displays, and visual standard
Key Requirements
Skills & Experience
- Interior design student, graduate, or junior designer
- SketchUp proficiency essential
- Comfortable working in a client-facing showroom environment
- Background in retail, hospitality, or customer service highly regarded
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Well-presented, reliable, flexible, and motivated
- Eager to learn and grow within a luxury design-focused business
What We Offer
- Salary: $55,000 – $65,000, commensurate with experience
- Tuesday to Saturday roster (38 hours per week, Short Day Saturday)
- Half Day Birthday Leave
- 4 Weeks Annual Leave
- Ongoing training and mentorship
- Opportunity to work alongside designers, architects, and builders on luxury projects
- Exposure to real-world design from concept through to delivery
