About the role
Are you passionate about the world of interiors and design? We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Assistant to support the Editor-in-Chief and editorial team for two of Australia’s leading homes brands, House & Garden and Belle. This role is key to ensuring the smooth running of both brands and will involve coordination with internal teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
As the Assistant, you will be responsible for managing a variety of administrative activities and ensuring efficient communication between editorial, sales, and external contacts. You’ll help keep everything on track, from reader inquiries to flagship events like the Belle Interior Design Awards and House & Garden Top 50 Room Awards. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with our talented editorial team and contribute to our omnichannel success.
Duties
- Manage all administrative duties for the Editor-in-Chief, including responding to project submissions, reader inquiries, and requests from advertising clients, PR agencies, architects, and designers and replying to invitations
- Keeping digital and hard copy files up to date and in order and organising regular production meetings and follow-up action points.
- Help the editorial team organise photo shoots and coordinate deliveries and returns.
- Liaise with the sales team on deliverables
- Collaborate on digital and social content for brands.
- Collaborate and contribute to PR strategy to promote the new issue each month.
- Assisting with flagship events like the Belle Interior Design Awards and the House & Garden Top 50 Room Awards
Skills and experience
- Proactive, positive, and detail oriented.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized with strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Able to build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Skilled at juggling competing demands and meeting deadlines.
- Professional, mature, and able to make decisive decisions when needed.
