James Dunlop Textiles Group is an internationally recognised wholesaler of premium furnishing textiles, known for innovation, quality and design excellence across Australasia and the USA. Our clients include leading furniture retailers, designers, architects and manufacturers — and now, we’re looking for a passionate new team member to join us.

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Junior Studio Support professional to join our Alexandria studio on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is perfect for someone who loves textiles, enjoys working in a creative environment, and is eager to grow their experience within the design and product space. This position is also an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to gain hands-on industry experience.

About the Role

Reporting to the Mokum Director, you’ll provide key administrative and studio support to help bring our product plans to life. You’ll play an important role in ensuring accurate data management across our internal systems and supporting the smooth delivery of new product developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with sampling requests for new product development
  • Coordinate testing requirements for all new products
  • Maintain and update internal software systems
  • Support the supply chain team as Environmental Assistant
  • Provide general studio and administrative support as required
  • Contribute to a collaborative, creative and fast-paced studio environment

 

Key Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • A genuine interest in textiles, interiors or product development
  • Tertiary qualification in textile design or a related discipline (preferred — ideal for a recent graduate)
  • Experience within the home furnishings/textile industry (advantageous but not essential for a junior or graduate applicant)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Excellent organisational skills with a sharp eye for detail
  • Confident with Microsoft Office; Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop skills a bonus
  • Self-motivated, proactive and eager to learn
  • Enjoy working both collaboratively and independently
