The Role

We're seeking passionate Full-Time and Part-Time Showroom Sales Consultants to join our showroom team. This is an exciting opportunity to build meaningful client relationships while contributing to the growth of a leading Australian furniture brand.

As a Showroom Sales Consultant at MCM HOUSE, you are responsible for delivering exceptional sales performance and creating an inspiring, highly personalised customer experience.

Working within a premium furniture and interiors environment, you will confidently guide customers through their purchasing journey, understanding their space, lifestyle and needs, recommending the right products and solutions, and converting opportunities into sales.

This is a focused sales role for someone who loves customers, interiors and achieving results. You will take ownership of your individual sales performance while contributing to the overall success of the showroom.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Commercial Performance

  • Achieve and exceed individual weekly, monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Actively drive showroom conversion and maximise every sales opportunity.
  • Build strong average transaction values through considered cross-selling and upselling.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of active customers, quotes and future opportunities.
  • Proactively follow up quotes, enquiries, samples and undecided customers to convert opportunities into sales.
  • Understand personal and showroom KPIs and take ownership of performance against target.
  • Maintain accurate customer and sales information within relevant CRM and retail systems.

Customer Experience & Clienteling

  • Deliver a warm, confident and highly personalised showroom experience.
  • Build genuine relationships with customers by understanding their lifestyle, space, aesthetic and purchasing needs.
  • Ask effective open-ended questions to uncover customer requirements and buying motivations.
  • Provide knowledgeable product recommendations and styling advice.
  • Build long-term customer relationships that encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Proactively reconnect with previous customers regarding new collections, product launches and relevant opportunities.
  • Manage the customer journey from initial enquiry through to purchase and post-sale follow-up.
  • Handle customer concerns professionally and work collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes.

Product & Brand Expertise

  • Develop exceptional knowledge of the complete product range, including materials, dimensions, configurations, finishes, lead times and care requirements.
  • Confidently communicate product features, benefits, craftsmanship and points of difference.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of new collections, promotions, pricing and stock availability.
  • Represent the brand consistently through communication, presentation and customer experience.

Showroom Excellence

  • Maintain an immaculate, inspiring and commercially focused showroom environment.
  • Ensure products are presented in accordance with visual merchandising and brand standards.
  • Assist with product movements, merchandising changes and showroom presentation as required.
  • Maintain accurate product pricing, signage and customer-facing information.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider showroom team to achieve daily and monthly showroom targets.

Key Requirements

About You

You are a confident, energetic and commercially minded salesperson who genuinely enjoys connecting with customers and closing sales.

You will ideally bring:

  • Proven experience in premium retail, furniture, interiors, homewares, fashion, luxury or another consultative sales environment.
  • A strong track record of achieving or exceeding individual sales targets.
  • Confidence working with KPIs and being accountable for your own performance.
  • Strong sales, negotiation and closing skills.
  • A natural ability to build rapport and develop long-term customer relationships.
  • A proactive approach to customer follow-up and clienteling.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • An interest in furniture, interiors, architecture and design.
  • The ability to work collaboratively while maintaining strong individual accountability.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means consistently achieving sales targets while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

You will be known for building strong customer relationships, maintaining an active sales pipeline, confidently closing opportunities and maximising the value of every customer interaction.

Above all, you will approach the showroom as a sales environment, proactively creating opportunities rather than waiting for them.
