Dekkoplus Pty Ltd is seeking an Interior Designer to join our Sydney team. We design, manufacture and supply a wide range of designer and architectural products used across residential, commercial and industrial spaces. Our product range includes wall and ceiling panels, wet area solutions, cladding, decorative wall finishes, flooring and decking. The role suits a designer who can turn product knowledge into practical interior solutions for real client spaces.
About the Role
In this role, you will work closely with clients, builders, architects, estimators and the internal sales team to develop interior design concepts that make effective use of the Dekkoplus product range. You will prepare design proposals for bathrooms, kitchens, wet areas, feature walls, ceilings, retail spaces, offices, hospitality venues and other interior environments where the company's finishes and panel systems are used. Key responsibilities
· Meet with clients to understand the style, function, budget and finish requirements of each project
· Prepare interior concepts, mood boards, material selections and presentation packages using Dekkoplus panels, cladding and decorative finishes
· Recommend suitable colours, textures, profiles and layout options for walls, ceilings, wet areas and feature surfaces
· Produce drawings, design layouts and visual presentations that support quoting, client approval and project delivery
· Coordinate with sales staff and project stakeholders on product selection, quantities, specifications and finish details
· Review plans, site measurements, room dimensions and installation requirements to make sure selected finishes suit the space
· Adapt design proposals to suit residential, commercial and custom order requirements
· Maintain awareness of current interior trends, finish combinations and practical product applications relevant to the company's range
· Support showroom presentation and assist with the preparation of display concepts that help customers visualise complete interior outcomes
· Liaise with suppliers, contractors and clients during the design and selection stage to help projects move smoothly from enquiry to order
Key Requirements
Skills and experience
· Preferably, relevant qualification/certificate in Design or an engineering field, equivalent work experience may substitute this requirement
· At least two years of relevant experience in interior design, material selection or interior product specification
· Ability to prepare design concepts, layouts and client presentations
· Good understanding of interior finishes, colour coordination, textures and space planning
· Confidence working with design software and preparing drawings or visual material for client review
· Strong communication skills and the ability to work with clients and internal teams in a practical commercial setting
· Experience with wall finishes, decorative panels, cladding, wet area materials or similar interior products will be well regarded
· Candidates must have any valid work authorisation to work in Australia
