Position overview
This full time Commercial Interior Designer role is responsible for the end-to-end design of commercial spaces including administration and commercialisation of new product ideas, improvements and supervision of installation on site.
Duties/responsibilities
Duties/responsibilities include:
- Determine customer requirements (space limits, timeframe, and budget) by consulting directly or with sales representatives
- Research latest trends in shop fittings and fit outs
- Prepare commercial design concepts in line with client goals using Autodesk's Revit software.
- Detail design parameters for commercial space whilst drawing on available products within the MAXe, Peggie, Retailers' Catalogue range, or custom manufactured products from our range
- Present design concepts as 3D representation of space to customers using MAXe & Peggie
- With assistance of Product Design Team, developing prototypes for interior fittings locally to then take to overseas mass production.
- Project management and coordination of design team that meets once a week and includes but not limited to the following tasks:
- Create and disseminate meeting content to all customers;
- Present your plans, sketches and designs;
- Schedule meetings and keep them focused and on time;
- Create all post meeting content including administering minutes and action items
- Maintain open communication with client and maintain a comprehensive log of all feedback relating to our products/services. Incorporate feedback into new or updated designs
- Supervise the construction, installation and fit-out
- Attend up to four (4) overseas trips per year. In collaboration with our product design team, which includes closely working with our Shanghai office you will:
- Create trip agendas for each supplier;
- Administer and conduct meetings with each supplier;
- Present and discuss new designs and concepts to the manufacturer;
- Working collaboratively with our manufacturers on materials, production methods and other key inputs to the production process.
- Produce all post meeting content and action items;
Salary
Salary is commiserated with experience and in the range of 80,000-90,000 plus superannuation
Key Requirements
Skills/Qualifications required
- Bachelor degree in relevant field
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience
- High attention to detail and very organised
- Very high intellect
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong relationship building skills
- Be hands on and not afraid to physically set up samples and testing kits
- Ability to work in a team environment and work with multiple key departments
- Ability to use initiative and think outside the box
- An analytical and technical approach
- Effective time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Strong computer skills with intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) expertise
- Prior knowledge of an ERP system will be advantageous.
