The Role

In the role of an FF&E Designer you'll use your expertise in FF&E design and documentation to propose FF&E selections that meet our clients' needs and respond to the design brief. You'll support the Design Leader and FF&E Leader with the development of the design vision through the FF&E direction. The FF&E Designer communicates design selections, collaborates with project team members, and maintains relationships with suppliers. The role involves managing project records, developing design specifications, sourcing design selections, and organizing the final review of material finishes. The FF&E Designer is responsible for maintaining the material finishes library and sourcing materials at the appropriate project phase.

As the FF&E Designer, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Responsible for the project record of all design selections, filing images, file naming to record origin of materials and design selection as per BAR protocols
  • Responsible for the project ID and FF+E coding
  • Responsible for producing the ID + FFE Specification Document, including furniture, carpet and decorative lighting documentation, with guidance from the FF&E Delivery Leader
  • Collaborating with the Design team to apply and test all design selections that are then presented
  • Responsible for organisation of final review of all Material finishes and fabrics - engaging of all relevant stakeholders to gain approvals
  • Keeping project team members updated on changes or progress of assigned project areas.
  • Attending project team meetings, communicates progress with Project Leader/Director and FF&E Director
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and engages suppliers to visit the studio and present products.
  • Builds awareness of new materials, FF&E ranges, and understanding of suppliers in different regions in according to project locations.
  • Able to manage own time efficiently and prioritise tasks in response to project needs.
  • Able to work collaboratively within project and studio teams.
  • Effective written and spoken communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, self-organised and proactive.

Key Requirements

Ideally, You Will Have

  • Diploma or higher qualification in Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design or related field
  • Adobe Suite (Photoshop/ InDesign), Auto CAD, Rhino and Sketch Up
  • Minimum 2 years of Commercial - Hospitality, Hotel or F+B Interior Design experience preferred
  • Excellent design communication skills
  • Industry knowledge of ID materials and FF&E
