We are a small but dynamic design and construction company that delivers high-quality luxury retail, hospitality and residential projects, with a strong focus on design-led outcomes and realisation of design intent. We are seeking an enthusiastic and pro-active Junior Project Admin Assistant to join our team.

The role involves daily operational support to our Design and Site Project Management teams. This is an opportunity to be support the team in the coordination of projects through the various project life cycle stages being Design, Stakeholder/Authority Approvals and permits, through to procurement, management and production.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in preparation of documents required for submission to Council and other Authorities as instructed
  • liaison with tenancy coordinators, store centre management and security to facilitate site access, deliveries and the smooth running of projects
  • organising site access permits as required
  • liaising with trades and sub-contractors
  • assisting the Design team with sourcing material samples and finishes
  • placing orders of materials and supplies and monitoring delivery status
  • sourcing and procuring of furniture, equipment, lighting and general décor items based on the brief provided and aligned with the design vision
  • organising transport of fit outs, furniture and equipment locally, interstate and internationally and ensuring that these meet cost and transport deadlines
  • support in maintaining and curating the material and supplier library
  • other admin and coordination tasks as instructed

Key Requirements

Requirements

This role will ideally suit someone who aspires to develop into a project coordination role with a strong interest in design. Previous experience in interior design, architecture in the design and construction industry, in a similar role, will be seen as highly desirable.

An understanding of materials, finishes and spatial design principles, the ability to interpret design briefs, and to contribute to sourcing and selection processes, will be very beneficial for this role.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must, as is the ability to liaise with clients, contractors and other entities in a polished and professional manner.

Exceptional admin and organisational skills, plus the ability to juggle many tasks also required in this fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time position based in Marrickville. Five minute walk to Sydenham Train Station and Metro.
