Description

You take pride in knowing your product, and you like being the person a customer can trust to get it right.

We are looking for someone to step into our established Waterloo showroom on a contract basis.

You will be selling both the Signorino and Woodcut products, so a genuine interest in both natural stone and timber surfaces will serve you well here.

You will be working alongside a team that knows the product well and takes real pride in the showroom itself. There is a genuine scope to build your product knowledge over time and grow into the role.

About Us

Signorino and Woodcut are both family businesses passed down through the generations, Signorino for more than fifty years & Woodcut from our director’s grandfather, a timber merchant. Today we supply premium natural stone, terrazzo and porcelain surfaces alongside engineered European oak flooring, specified on many of Australia’s most design-led projects.

The Role

The role is evenly split between working with clients and keeping the showroom running behind the scenes, from administration and sample room requirements to organising.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Client facing

  • Greeting and assisting showroom clients
  • Providing detailed product information and advice
  • Managing customer enquiries in person, by phone and email
  • Processing sales and following up with clients
  • Build strong relationships with retail, trade and interior design clients
  • Achieving individual and supporting the team target.

Showroom administration and sample room

  • Maintaining showroom presentation & product displays to a high standard
  • Organising the sample room and keeping sample stock current
  • Preparing and dispatching samples for clients, designers and trade
  • Updating displays as new ranges and collections arrive
  • Keeping CRM records, sales transactions and client details accurate and current
  • Supporting the trade and wider team as required.

Key Requirements

Who We’re Looking For

You take pride in what you sell and where you sell it, and you would rather earn a customer's trust than push for a quick sale.

  • 3 to 5 years experience in sales or retail, preferably in the building/architectural supplier market
  • A natural, proactive approach to solving problems
  • Strong listening skills, confident handling objections
  • Genuine interest in design, materials or architecture
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office and CRM systems

And the non-negotiables: you take initiative rather than waiting to be asked, you keep the showroom looking at the part even when no one is watching, and you give every customer your full attention.

Must Have Values

These are not aspirational: they are the minimum we expect from everyone here.

Customer Obsessed: Every single thing we do is for our customers. You understand their needs, exceed expectations, and take initiative to solve problems before they become issues.
One Team: We achieve great things together. You share your knowledge, offer support, and step in when it’s needed.
Make it Count: We do what we say we’ll do. You hold yourself accountable, prioritise results, and proactively look for ways to improve.
We are Fanatical: You love what you do. You take pride in where you work, celebrate wins, and bring energy to the people around you.
Be You: Every voice matters. You treat people with respect, welcome different ideas, and approach change with curiosity.

What’s on Offer

  • Work with premium natural stone, tile, porcelain and engineered European oak
  • Be part of an established, family run business
  • Learn from a team with genuine product knowledge
