Studio Dentro is seeking an exceptional Senior Interior Designer to join our growing Sydney studio.
Design, for us, begins with intent. We work across high-end residential, boutique commercial and wellness projects, creating spaces that are deeply conceptual, highly considered and rich in detail. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced designer who wants to play a key role in shaping projects while helping build an ambitious young studio entering an exciting period of growth.
THE ROLE
You will manage projects from pitch to completion, represent the studio with clients, consultants and contractors, and contribute to the continued growth of the business.
This is a 12-month contract role with a pathway to a permanent position for the right person.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Driving the creative vision for projects, developing design concepts that are highly resolved and rich in detail
- Managing all project stages including pitch, concept design, compliance and approvals, documentation, specification, procurement and on-site delivery
- Leading relationships with clients, builders, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
- Contributing to new business opportunities, project pitches and studio growth
- Mentoring and guiding a mid-level designer while coordinating freelance designers and consultants
- Operating with genuine autonomy - solving problems, making decisions and driving outcomes with confidence
Key Requirements
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 6+ years’ experience within a high-end residential or commercial interior design studio
- Demonstrated end-to-end project leadership - you've carried projects, not just supported them and can confidently manage competing deadlines
- Working knowledge of NCC, BCA and accessibility requirements, with the ability to integrate compliance considerations into the design process
- Exceptional client-facing skills - confident presenting to clients, communicating design ideas, and able to manage expectations under pressure
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
- A sharp eye for materiality, detail, and spatial quality
- A genuine desire to contribute to and grow with an ambitious young studio
