Additional Information:
- This role is Permanent Full-time, 76hrs/fortnight
- This role is located on-site at IKEA Tempe
- You have the availability to work 7:30am to 3:30pm, with occasional weekend and public holiday shifts as required by business needs.
- As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates.
- If you are successful for this role, you will be required to obtain a National Police Check.
As an Interior Design Co-worker, you'll be part of our Communication & Interior Design team, bringing the IKEA vision to life through inspiring, functional and commercially relevant store environments. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Creating inspiring room settings that showcase functional, stylish and affordable home furnishing solutions.
- Using customer insights, local trends and market knowledge to design relevant solutions that meet the needs of local customers and lifestyles.
- Planning, building and maintaining store displays that are visually appealing, high quality and aligned with IKEA visual merchandising standards.
- Styling and constructing room sets, displays and vignettes that are both inspirational and commercially effective.
- Collaborating with Sales and cross-functional teams to deliver seamless customer experiences and support commercial priorities.
- Contributing to store projects, seasonal implementations, range changes and layout improvements.
- Ensuring all displays and installations maintain high standards of safety, quality and efficiency.
- Staying up to date with home furnishing trends, interior design developments and retail best practices.
Key Requirements
Who you are
- A qualification in Interior Design, Architecture or a related field.
- Strong visual competence and a keen eye for aesthetics, detail and presentation.
- The ability to generate, visualise and present creative ideas using digital tools or other appropriate mediums.
- Experience using design software and digital tools such as Revit, SketchUp and Microsoft applications.
- Confidence communicating and presenting ideas to a variety of stakeholders and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to actively build, install and maintain displays on the shop floor.
- Confidence using ladders, assembling furniture and safely operating basic power tools when required.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to contribute new ideas and perspectives.
- Previous experience in home furnishing, retail or a similar environment will be highly regarded.
