Description

Are you 2+ years into your career and looking for a new challenge?

The Make Haus is a multidisciplinary creative studio working across interiors, styling, events and experiential projects. Known for creating distinctive, highly considered environments, the studio brings together strong creative direction with thoughtful production and a real focus on how each project feels and functions.

We are now looking for a Studio & Project Producer to join our creative studio.

This is a key role sitting at the intersection of creative production, client experience, project management and commercial performance. You’ll take projects from initial enquiry through to completion, helping ensure they are creatively exceptional, beautifully managed, commercially viable and delivered to a high standard.

We are looking for someone who can think creatively, operate commercially and take genuine ownership – someone confident leading projects autonomously while working closely with the wider studio team.

Core Responsibilities

Client & Lead Management

  • Engage with new leads and assess whether opportunities are aligned with The Make Haus’ creative offering, capacity and commercial model.
  • Manage the client onboarding process from initial enquiry through to appointment.
  • Develop clear project briefs, ensuring client expectations, scope, budget and deliverables are understood from the outset.
  • Build strong, considered client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Production

  • Own the day-to-day production and coordination of multiple projects.
  • Establish project timelines, milestones, deliverables and responsibilities.
  • Coordinate designers, suppliers, clients, contractors and external collaborators.
  • Stay ahead of deadlines, approvals, procurement and production requirements.
  • Identify potential issues early and proactively develop solutions.
  • Ensure projects are delivered to The Make Haus standard, on time and within agreed scope.

Commercial & Budget Management

  • Establish and manage project budgets.
  • Track committed expenditure, supplier costs and actual spend.
  • Reconcile projects and ensure financial information is accurate and up to date.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the operating costs associated with producing projects.
  • Identify opportunities to improve margins, efficiencies and overall project profitability.
  • Understand and consider the commercial implications of decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

Communication

  • Create beautifully considered client and supplier communication.
  • Communicate The Make Haus’ vision, process and way of working with clarity and confidence.
  • Manage approvals, negotiations, changes and difficult conversations when required.
  • Ensure all communication feels consistent with the tone and positioning of The Make Haus.

Suppliers & Procurement

  • Source new suppliers, materials, products and creative collaborators.
  • Maintain and strengthen existing supplier relationships.
  • Research the market and stay across new opportunities, materials and makers.
  • Negotiate where appropriate and ensure suppliers are aligned with project requirements and budgets.
  • Help curate distinctive and unexpected elements for The Make Haus projects.

Studio Planning & Operations

  • Use scheduling and project-management tools to maintain visibility across multiple projects.
  • Plan ahead for workload, resourcing, deadlines and upcoming project requirements.
  • Manage competing priorities across intertwined projects.
  • Help create and refine systems and processes that allow the studio to operate efficiently as it grows.

Key Requirements

About you

We’re open to an emerging designer or creative professional with minimum 2 years experience who has the right attitude, initiative and drive to grow into the role. If you’re a self-starter with strong SketchUp and presentation skills, great organisational instincts and the confidence to take ownership, we’re prepared to mentor and develop you as you step up.

The right person will be:

  • Autonomous and proactive: you take ownership and naturally think about what needs to happen next
  • Highly organised: comfortable managing multiple projects, timelines and details at once
  • Commercially minded: you understand that exceptional creative work also needs to be profitable
  • Creatively intelligent: with strong taste, curiosity and an interest in interiors, events, design and culture
  • An excellent communicator: warm, articulate and confident with clients, suppliers and collaborators
  • Decisive and solutions-focused: able to anticipate problems and keep projects moving
  • Well researched and resourceful: always looking for better ideas, suppliers and ways of working
  • Collaborative: someone who enjoys being part of a creative studio and contributes positively to its culture
  • Energetic and adaptable: comfortable with the changing demands of creative production
  • Ahead of the curve: interested in what is happening culturally and creatively and able to bring fresh thinking into the studio

What success looks like

You’ll become a trusted operator within The Make Haus, someone who can confidently move a project from an opportunity, to brief, budget, production and delivery.

You’ll be able to look at a project and understand what the client needs, what the team needs, what it will cost to deliver, where the risks sit and what needs to happen next.

Ultimately, your role is to create the structure around the creative work, allowing the wider team to focus on producing extraordinary projects while you ensure the commercial, operational and production elements are exceptionally managed.

This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging or early-career design professional who is ready to step up, take ownership and grow within a multidisciplinary creative studio. You may only be 2 years into your career, but what matters as much as your skills is your attitude, initiative, creative capability and willingness to learn.
